8.  INTERESTING NOTES TO THE READERS:

   - Started a production company, Prufrock Pictures, named after one
of her favourite poems written by T.S. Eliott "The Love Song of
     J. Alfred Prufrock".
   - Was doused in insect repellent for a scene in I.Q. where she and
Tim Robbins had to roll in a deer tick infested grass field.
   - Made the infamous Blackwell's worst dressed list in 1988. She was
"the ragbag doll of the year." Met Dennis Quaid while filming
"Innerspace", and was "wooed" by him while filming "D.O.A.".
   - Dennis and Meg often planned "mystery romantic weekends" where
one would make plans and then surprise the other.
   - Meg hired a plane to fly a happy birthday banner as a surprise
for Dennis. Dennis, in turn, hired a high school marching band to
deliver a similar message to Meg while she was filming "The
     Presidio."
   - Meg and Dennis were married Feb 14. 1991
   - Meg bleached her hair platinum blonde for her role in the film
I.Q. where she plays the niece of Albert Einstein.
   - Meg was noted as being one of "The 50 most Beautiful People in
the World 1994" by People Magazine. [ Despite the source, this is
probably quite true IMHO ;-) ]
   - Favourite Romantic Movie: "Splendor in the Grass" with Warren
     Beatty and Natalie Wood
   - Film roles she turned down: Steel Magnolias, Pretty Woman, Ghost,
Silence of the Lambs, and Maverick. She turned down Silence
because she thought it was "ugly", "dangerous" and "too dark".
   - She backed out of Maverick because she wanted to spend time with
     her husband and son.
   - Sleepless in Seattle soundtrack has sold more than 3 million
copies to date. (thanks to Andrew Perry for this info)
   - Won the Harvard 1994 Hasty Pudding Award "Woman of the Year"
   - She aced high school, finished 11th in her class, was homecoming
     queen and was voted "cutest"
   - She was studying journalism at NYU when she tried out for, and
received, a part on the daytime soap "As the World Turns". She
paid for tuition by acting in commercials.
   - Both she and her husband value their privacy.
   - Very important: Don't ever ask her anything about her
     mother... long story.
   - Her mother wrote a book, with all the juicy details, about Meg
and her husband Dennis Quaid (no wonder Meg avoids her).
     (source: Multichoice highlights 1995).
   - She was voted America's most romantic woman. Second was Cindy
     Crawford and third Michelle Pfeiffer.
     - (Source: Cinema, March (?) 1996)
     - Thanks to Erwin Smit for this info.
   - Meg actually appeared on a game show on TV early in her career.
This has been left out of the filmography (for obvious reasons).
   - She appeared on Tattletales, the exact time and date of the
show is unknown, if anyone has this info then please let me
     know...
   - Much of this and some of the time line information has been taken
directly from David R Woloschuk's WWW home page for Meg Ryan.
